The Destination Experience Visionaries Summit has been launched  in Barbados. Following on the success of the event in Jamaica, the conceptualisers are following on their plan to expand throughout the Caribbean, starting with Barbados, with an expectation to expand to Trinidad in the second quarter of 2018 followed by other islands including Cayman, St Lucia and The Bahamas.

The Visionaries Summit aims to connect wealth and ideas with opportunity. The expansion is in line with the initial vision to create an ecosystem connecting the Caribbean business community to the rest of the world. “We are working to spark an entrepreneurship and innovation revolution in the Caribbean. Our goal is to connect the best in the Caribbean with the best in the world, driving a paradigm shift in the economic outlook of the Caribbean,” said Kirk-Anthony Hamilton, Founder and curator of the Destination Experience.

Since its inception in Jamaica in 2014, the event has evolved into an innovative platform - connecting people, ideas and opportunities with the ultimate goal: through entrepreneurship and engagement - to unlock the potential of each island nation.

In January of 2017 the community pulled together a collective of individuals controlling equity exceeding US$100 billion and has generated deals exceeding US$300 million in investment for Jamaica across a number of industries.

Celebrated by President Barack Obama at The White House in 2015 as “An innovative platform for the promotion of entrepreneurship and a unique business catalyst”; honoured by The World Economic Forum in Davos and supported by Forbes Magazine and other industry greats, The Visionaries Summit aims to be a catalyst for change in the economic conversation in the Caribbean.
