Premature announcement ... Montague says FLA board not yet appointed
The National Security Ministry has issued a statement describing as premature a release it dispatched last night announcing the appointment of new board of the Firearm Licensing Authority (FLA).
This is the third release the ministry is issuing concerning the FLA board appointment in the past 14 hours.
Last night, the ministry named the five-member board including former chairman Dennis Wright.
This morning, it issued a statement saying Wright had declined the appointment and an investment banker was being considered as his replacement.
Almost two hours later, the National Security Minister Robert Montague has sent out another statement saying he has not appointed a board for the FLA.
"A release was sent out prematurely," Montague said in a terse statement..

Last night the Cabinet discussed the appointment of the Board of the Firearm Licensing Authority.
A release was sent out prematurely.
I have not appointed the Board of the FLA.
I leave the island today to attend an international conference.
On my return, I will return the decision to the Cabinet to finalise the discussions and execute the instruments of appointment.
