Police Commish condemns killing of cop assigned to Stadium Police Station

Commissioner Quallo says the killing of the policeman is being viewed as an attack on the state and a high-level team of detectives has been assigned to probe the crime.

Police Commissioner George Quallo has strongly condemned the killing of a policeman in Portmore, St Catherine last night and is promising to bring those responsible for the crime to justice.

Twenty-nine-year-old constable, Nicaldo Green, who was assigned to the Stadium Police Station in St Andrew, was shot and killed as he arrived home in 8 West Greater Portmore minutes after 10 o'clock.

The attackers also took the policeman's licensed firearm.

Commissioner Quallo says the killing of the policeman is being viewed as an attack on the state and a high-level team of detectives has been assigned to probe the crime.

He also took the opportunity to encourage citizens to join in the fight against crime.
