$3m worth of ganja seized in Westmoreland
Over 750 pounds of compressed ganja worth just over $3 million were seized last night by the Narcotics police in Whitehouse, Westmoreland.
The drugs were found during a search of two houses and surrounding lands in the community by the team of lawmen.
A total of 31 knitted bags containing 211 packages with compressed ganja were discovered in an open lot.
No one was arrested in connection with the seizure but police suspect the drugs were being prepared for shipment as part of the drugs-for-guns trade between Haiti and Jamaica.
Investigations are continuing.
