The FLOW Foundation spearheaded two activities to mark International Literacy Day, which was observed on September 8.

A literacy video competition was launched among five primary schools selected by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Information. The schools were asked to create one-minute videos focusing on the theme for International Literacy Day: Literacy in a Digital World for placement on social media. The participating schools were: Seaward Primary in Kingston; Bull Bay Primary in St Thomas; Lower Buxton Primary in St Ann; Kew Park Primary in Westmoreland; and Homestead Primary, St Catherine.
