Government to sign MOU with China

​The Government continues to strengthen economic ties with the People's Republic of China.

This as the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, Agriculture and Fisheries has announced that a Memorandum of Understanding will be signed this morning with the General Administration of Quality Supervision Inspection & Quarantine of China.

The Ministry says the MOU for sanitary and phytosanitary measures, aims to strengthen and promote bilateral cooperation for the entry and exit of animals, plant inspection and quarantine. 

According to a media advisory from the ministry, the MOU is intended to facilitate trade in foodstuff between Jamaica and China in accordance with international food safety standards and regulations.
