Bird shooting season ends Sunday, $100,000 fine for offenders
The 2017 game bird shooting season ends tomorrow.
The National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA) says the season ends a 9 o’clock tomorrow morning and is reminding members of the public that it is illegal to shoot game birds during the closed season.
NEPA says persons caught shooting during the closed season will be prosecuted under the Wild Life Protection Act (WLPA) and faces a fine of up to $100,000 or 12 months imprisonment.
The agency is encouraging the public to be vigilant and report all incidents of illegal shooting toll free at 888-991-5005 or the nearest police station.
