The Police have raised the threat level against members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) to extreme following several recent attacks on cops.

The JCF informed the public via Twitter that violent attacks against cops are imminent.

It is advising JCF members to take all necessary precautions to protect themselves and family members from attacks.

The most recent attack happened last night when gunmen shot and injured a female police inspector and her daughter at their home in Portmore, St Catherine.

In an update this morning, the JCF said their injuries are not considered life-threatening.

It also said the police are seeking other suspects who were involved in the incident.

One of the gunmen, who was shot by the policewoman, remains in hospital.

Last night’s attack on the policewoman followed two other recent incidents last week.

Last Thursday, 29-year-old police constable Nicaldo Green was shot and killed at his home in Greater Portmore, St Catherine.

Days before, a police corporal was shot and injured by robbers at his home in Trelawny.
