Daniel Sturridge signed as Grace Foods' Nurishment ambassador
Liverpool and England footballer, Daniel Sturridge, whose grandparents are Jamaican, has signed a three-year partnership deal with Nurishment.
Sturridge, who has represented England at all levels, will be actively involved in marketing Nurishment, the best-selling nutritionally enriched milk drink distributed by Grace Foods UK.
His first job will be to promote the Nurishment Filling Station, the brand's first dedicated gaming app, with the highest scorers getting the chance to play against him.
"I'm really pleased to be promoting a drink that I've enjoyed for many years. I grew up with Nurishment, and strawberry's my favourite flavour," he said.
"I also love gaming, and the Nurishment Filling Station is a really cool game. So I'm challenging gamers to beat my score and get to the top of the leader board. Game on!"
Adam Reader, managing director of Grace Foods UK, said: "Daniel's a role model for millions of people, and his family values are aligned with ours. The fact that he's grown up with Nurishment will make our partnership even stronger."
Nyree Chambers, Grace Foods UK's head of marketing, added: "We're delighted to be partnering with Daniel, giving gamers the chance to take on one of the UK's most famous footballers. Daniel's really up for the challenge but who, if anyone, can beat him?"
In 2014, the footballer fulfilled a long-held ambition with the opening of The Sturridge Foundation, raising funds to support underprivileged children in Jamaica and England, including through the provision of recreational and leisure activities to improve their well-being.
