Gun seized from man at funeral

The Darliston Police have arrested a man who pulled a gun during an altercation while at a funeral in Westmoreland.

He's expected to be charged for breaches of the Firearms Act.

His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.

The police say about 4:30 yesterday afternoon a group of mourners were at the funeral in Orange Hill when an altercation developed between the man and another man.

He reportedly pulled a firearm, which fell to the ground.

It was retrieved and handed over to a policeman who was at the funeral.

The policeman contacted the Darliston Police who responded.

The man was taken into custody and the firearm, a Interarms 9 millimetre pistol, along with nine 9 millimetre rounds of ammunition were seized.
