Thieves rob 15 persons of cash and valuables at meeting

The police are reporting that 15 persons, 13 of whom are Chinese nationals, were robbed of cash and valuables worth nearly $3 million on Tuesday.

A release from the Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) of the Jamaica Constabulary Force this afternoon said the robbery took place about 9 o'clock  in the night on Paddington Terrace in Kingston 6.

The CCU says the group of 15 men were at a meeting when five armed men entered the premises and robbed them of cash and valuables.

The items that were taken include:

* 21 cell phones valuing J$1,109,400

* 7 laptops valuing J$483,750

* US$5,400; J$177,700 and CYN$5,180 (Chinese Yuan)

The police are appealing to anyone with information that can assist the police with this investigation is being asked to contact Police 119 emergency number or the nearest police station
