Dunn wants the debate to be hosted by the Jamaica Debates Commission (JDC) before the October 30 date set for the elections.

The Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) candidate for the South East St Mary constituency, Dr Norman Dunn, wants to challenge his opponent to a debate.

Dunn wants the debate to be hosted by the Jamaica Debates Commission (JDC) before the October 30 date set for the elections.

Dr Shane Alexis is the candidate for the People's National Party.

In a release issued this morning, the JLP candidate claims he's a firm believer in the system of democracy and says he's in full support of the mission of the JDC, which is to strengthen and grow the democratic process.

He went on to state that he wants the people of South East St Mary to make an informed decision on election day and the best way to do this is to have both candidates debate on a fair platform.
