National Workers Union signs wage deal with Island Concrete Company

The National Workers Union has signed the 2017-2019 Wage and Fringe Benefit Heads of Agreement with Island Concrete Company Limited.

The agreement was signed on behalf of 12 categories of workers at the company’s Montego Bay and Cayman operations.

The contract which commences on April 1, 2017 will see salary adjustments in year one and two. There is also an agreement for the introduction of emergency leave, laundry allowance, height pay and the provision of safety gears and a night premium.

Increases in subsistence allowance, waiting time and reporting time were also agreed.
