Annotto Bay:
The St Theresa's Catholic Church, in Annotto Bay, the venue for today’s nomination of candidates to contest the October 30, by-election in St Mary South East, is now under heavy security presence, as the authorities take no chances.

Members of the police force supported by personnel from the Jamaica Defence Force have been out in their numbers since early this morning in preparations for the nominations of the Jamaica Labour Party;s Dr Norman Dunn and the People’s National Party’s Dr Shane Alexis.

Police personnel at the entrance of the church were quick to ask occupants of a car who were wearing green shirts to leave if they had no business there.

Similarly members of the JDF also ushered the driver of a vehicle which was parked under a tree on the compound, out of the nomination centre.

In the meantime several JLP Members of Parliament have been seen in the constituency since early this morning, particularly in Annotto Bay where traffic is now crawling.
