The full force of the Jamaica Labour Party’s (JLP) top brass was on show this morning as Dr Norman Dunn was nominated to contest the October 30 by-election in South East St Mary.

Dunn was accompanied to the nomination centre at St Theresa's Catholic Church in Annotto Bay by JLP Leader, Prime Minister Andrew Holness, Cabinet members Audley Shaw, Delroy Chuck, Mike Henry,  Dr Christopher Tufton, Daryl Vaz, Dr Horace Chang and Robert Montague.

Speaker of the House of Representatives veteran JLP MP Pearnel Charles led the other Members of Parliament including Juliet Cuthbert Flynn and Alando Terrelonge.

After being nominated Dunn told journalists that he is committed to work in the constituency, with a heavy focus on infrastructure.

Holness also reiterated his commitment to infrastructural development of the rural constituency which has become a battle ground following the death of Dr Winston Green in August.

Green won the seat by a mere five votes in the 2016 general elections with the JLP capturing three of the four parish council divisions last year.

Dunn’s opponent, the People's National Party's Dr Shane Alexis is scheduled to be nominated at 1 p.m. today.
