The orgy of violence continued in Clarendon last night with four persons being shot, two fatally in Hayes.

Reports are that about 10:50 p.m. patrons were at a bar on the Hayes main road when members of a police team indicated that it should be closed.

The bar operator complied and the police left. Shortly after the bar operator and three others entered a vehicle and were about to drive away when a motorcar drove up.

Armed men alighted from that vehicle and opened fire hitting the bar operator and others in the car.

They were taken to hospital where 33-year-old Clovis Omar Cooke, better known as ‘Puppy’ of Monymusk Housing Scheme and 39-year-old Otis Gordon of Lionel Town died while undergoing treatment.

The bar operator and another man were admitted in stable conditions.
