Thieves make off with pregnant goats, police issue warning to shoppers
The St Elizabeth police are warning buyers of goat meat to be on the lookout for unscrupulous sellers.
The warning follows the theft and subsequent slaughter of a number of goats from the Middle Quarters area last night.
Goat farmer Juliet Jones says eight of her goats were stolen.
She says most of the stolen goats are pregnant.
Livestock farmers in St Elizabeth are complaining that they have become the target of thieves in recent weeks.
They say a number of animals have been stolen from the area.
