TSK partners with Old Harbour Bay community to unveil new centre
EngineerINGProcurement and Construction (EPC) company from Spain, TSK Group, and members of the Old Harbour Bay community will unveil a new community centre on Saturday with music and the merging of cultures.
According to Ruben Dario, project manager of the company's operations in Jamaica, TSK is a people-centric entity and has great respect for Jamaica's culture.
"The event seeks to bring together various groups in the community to connect through music, dance and a genuine interface to enhance the camaraderie," expressed Dario.
The work of volunteers from Clarendon and St Catherine on the centre, which has been inactive for some 10 years, will provide the Old Harbour Bay community with a new and larger space to work, meet and gather for group activities.
The partnership between TSK and the Old Harbour Bay community began earlier this year when the Jamaica Public Service Company's subsidiary the South Jamaica Power Company , signed an EPC contract with TSK for the construction of a highly anticipated 190 megawatt power plant in Old Harbour Bay, St Catherine.
"TSK's community involvement is one of the things we believe the Jamaica Public Service Company took into account when selecting us. We have a presence in 35 countries across four continents; and in each case we partner with the communities in which we work to help them develop their environment with our knowledge and engagement," shared Dario.
The company's three-year tenure in Old Harbour Bay will continue to provide a source of income for residents.
Currently, there is already a food catering service for TSK workers at the centre; and local carpenters have been contracted to build some of the furniture needed for the offices.
