Political commentator Kevin O’Brien Chang has described as crazy the fact that Dr Shane Alexis is seeking to enter the Jamaican Parliament despite him not being a Jamaican citizen.

Chang notes that, as a member of Parliament, Alexis would have the potential to become Prime Minister.

He says Alexis will appear unpatriotic to voters.

Chang says this could influence how some electors in South East St Mary vote.

Meanwhile, Chang says it’s time the Parliament seriously look at the issue of dual citizens serving in the House of Representatives.

He believes persons should not be prohibited from running for office if they are dual citizens, but they must hold Jamaican citizenship.
