NDM blasts Warmington

Addressing party supporters, Warmington said that it makes no sense for the residents to elect a PNP candidate to Parliament during a JLP administration.

The National Democratic Movement (NDM) is condemning statements made by junior minister Everald Warmington at a recent Jamaica Labour Party rally in South East St Mary.

The governing JLP and the opposition People’s National Party (PNP) are in a fierce contest to win the upcoming by-election in the constituency.

Addressing party supporters, Warmington said that it makes no sense for the residents to elect a PNP candidate to Parliament during a JLP administration.

In a statement this morning, the NDM described Warmington’s comments as crass, unfortunate, old-style, corrosive politics which the country needs to change.

The party is calling for Prime Minister Andrew Holness to address the matter immediately and clear the air to make it known that political victimisation will not be accepted or tolerated by his administration.
