Third person sentenced in pension fraud scheme at AGD
A third person has been convicted in relation to the pension fraud scheme at the Accountant General’s Department.
Kemar Lewis was sentenced to nine months imprisonment or a fine of $300,000 when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court last week Tuesday.
Lewis had pleaded guilty to the charges of conspiracy to defraud, receiving stolen goods and money laundering.
On the same day of sentencing, money laundering charges were laid against him by detectives attached to the Financial Investigations Division.
The first set of charges was brought by the Revenue Protection Division.
