Protesting Trinityville residents display placards after marching to the Morant Bay Mayor's office.

Mayor of Morant Bay Lenworth Rawle is calling on the National Works Agency (NWA) to correct roadworks that it started along the Seaforth to Trinityville main road in St Thomas some time ago.

Rawle, who is also the Councillor for the Trinityville division in Western St Thomas says a team from the NWA dug up various sections of the mainroad and filled the hole with marl.

He says the rain has since come and washed the marl away leaving the road in a more deplorable state than it was before.

Rawle expressed these concerns after several residents from Trinityville marched to his office this afternoon to protest the state of the poor road conditions.

He says the road is not the responsibility of the municipal corporation and is therefore calling on the relevant authorities.

Meanwhile, the placard-bearing residents marched to the NWA office in the area but were denied entry.

The residents, who have been demonstrating since Tuesday say they will continue until the community gets the attention it deserves.
