Flash Flood Watch issued for eastern parishes

The Meteorological Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of eastern parishes.

Residents of  St Mary, Portland, St Thomas and Kingston and St Andrew are being advised to take precautionary measures and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued.

The Met Office says a Trough across the central Caribbean and a Tropical Wave east of Jamaica are currently influencing the weather conditions across the island.

It says satellite imagery and radar reports are indicating that light to moderate showers are affecting eastern parishes and sections of central parishes.

The Met Office says projections are for periods of light to moderate and at times heavy showers and thunderstorms to continue affecting the island throughout the day.
