Medical doctor Jephthah Ford to be sentenced today on corruption conviction
Well-known medical doctor, Jephthah Ford, is scheduled to be sentenced today following his conviction on corruption charges.
In August, Ford was convicted on two counts of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
He was convicted for offering a police sergeant millions of dollars to release two Surinamese men.
Ford also offered the cop a percentage of the US$500,000 that was seized from the men during a police operation near Half-Way Tree in St Andrew in 2015.
The exchange was caught on tape.
