The police say traffic management systems have been put in place for St Mary South East as the two main political parties wrap up their campaign activities ahead of Monday’s by-election.

The People’s National Party (PNP) will host its final mass rally in Annotto Bay this evening and the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) will hold its meeting tomorrow evening.

The police say its traffic department has developed a traffic management plan to reduce congestion and provide access.

They say due to these two mass meetings, there will be limited parking in the town of Annotto Bay between 5 o'clock in the afternoon and midnight.

The police are asking members of the public who have to conduct business in the area to avoid using Annotto Bay as far as is possible during the period of the mass rallies.

And they say persons who must use the area should expect delays.

Meanwhile, the police are reminding supporters who will be attending the mass rallies that it is an offence to be in possession of any offensive weapon including licensed firearms.

The police say all licensed firearm holders should make prior arrangements for the safe keeping of their weapons and reminds that weapons should not be left inside motor vehicles.
