Flash Flood Watch issued for Kingston, St Andrew, St Thomas, Portland and St Mary
The Flash Flood Watch issued by the National Meteorological Service for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Kingston, St Andrew, St Thomas, Portland and St Mary has been extended until 5 o’clock this evening.
This as a trough across the central Caribbean continues to produce unstable weather conditions across the island.
As a result, the Met Service says the forecast is for cloudy conditions with periods of showers and thunderstorms to continue affecting mainly eastern parishes throughout today.
It says flash flooding is therefore possible for low-lying and flood-prone areas of eastern parishes.
A Flash Flood Watch means that flooding is likely and residents should take precautionary measures, listen for updates from the Met Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a warning is issued.
