The Police Inspectorate has launched an investigation into an incident being circulated on social media where a policeman was seen in a confrontation with a member of the public.

In the video, a policeman pulled his gun from its holster and ran towards a man who was recording a cell phone video while protesting about how the cops were handling a taxi operator.

As the cop ran towards the man, he was heard accusing the person shooting the video of hitting his car.

In a statement, the JCF said it takes seriously all allegations of abuse by any of its members adding that there is no place for unprofessional conduct within the organisation.

It says the JCF's Police Public Interaction Policy clearly guides all police interactions with the public and any deviation from this constitutes a breach of discipline.
