Corporate Area Civil Court gets new computerised case file system

The Corporate Area Civil Court in downtown Kingston has been outfitted with a new Case Information Statistical System (CISS).

A release from the Ministry of Justice said the CISS is a fully functional data capturing system for civil matters such as divorces, land transfers and business transactions.

The Justice Ministry says the new computerised system will significantly reduce the amount of time spent searching for case files to provide information to the public, such as upcoming court dates, past court date appearances and documents to be filed.

Now, the ministry says all of those data will be available electronically and can be accessed in real time, thereby lessening considerably the time typically spent combing through hundreds of case files for information.
