PAJ pays tribute to Lester Spaulding
The Press Association of Jamaica (PAJ) says the life and work of the late chairman of the RJRGLEANER Communications Group Lester Spaulding have impacted thousands of lives and will live on for years.
The PAJ, in its tribute to Spaulding, said he was a very influential person across the Caribbean, having served in several capacities, including director of the Caribbean News Agency and the first chairman of the Caribbean Media Corporation.
It says Spaulding was widely admired for his vision and industry, and his deep interest in the future and direction of media in Jamaica and the Caribbean.
The PAJ says his contribution to the development of the RJRGLEANER Group is well known, with his rise from Chief Clerk of Radio Jamaica to the position he held at the time of his passing.
It noted, also, that the Group expanded significantly under his stewardship, with the recent acquisition of the Gleaner, making the RJRGLEANER Communications Group one of the largest media houses in the Caribbean.
