A ‘heart-felt’ gift to KPH from Victoria Mutual: Members of the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH) medical team, Dr Carol Reid Baker (left), consultant emergency medicine physician, and Dr Lindberg Simpson (second left), chairman, Department of Surgery, are all smiles as they examine two defibrillators that were recently presented to the KPH by Angelia Christian (right), founder of the United Kingdom-based Angel Foundation. According to Dr Baker, the defibrillators, which are valued at approximately J$5 million, will significantly assist the medical team in the Accident and Emergency Department to save the lives of cardiac patients within seconds. Also sharing in the occasion is Sophia Lewis, assistant manager, group corporate affairs and communications at Victoria Mutual. The Victoria Mutual UK Representative Office assisted the Angel Foundation in getting the equipment to Jamaica.
