Met Office downgrades flash flood warning

The Meteorological Service has downgraded the Flash Flood Warning to a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood prone areas of St Mary, Portland, St Thomas, and Kingston and St Andrew.
It has continued a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Trelawny, St Ann, St Catherine, Clarendon, and Manchester.
It says a Trough, now west of Jamaica, continues to influence the weather conditions across the island.

The Met Office is projecting showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times, to continue to affect sections of most parishes mainly during the afternoon today and tomorrow.

It says flash flooding is a possibility over some low-lying and flood prone areas of eastern and central parishes.
Residents are being advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a warning is issued.
