NWA clears St Thomas roads blocked by landslides

A team from the National Works Agency (NWA) was this morning mobilised to clear sections of the road in St Thomas which were rendered impassable by landslides following heavy overnight rains.

Among these roads is the Mount Charles to Mahogany Vale main road, which forms the border of St Thomas and St Andrew.

The blockage caused by at least two landslides forced motorists traversing that route to park their vehicles on either side of the blockage and walk home.

Landslides at Smithfield have also reduced the Llandewy to Yallahs main road to single-lane traffic.
