Alleged robber dressed in mask, hoodie disarmed and killed in St Thomas

A man dressed in a hoodie and face mask is dead after he was killed during a robbery attempt in Rowlandsfield, St Thomas last night. 

He is 28-year-old Ronald Frater, a farmer of the same community.

Three other persons were also shot and injured.

It is reported that about 11:30 last night, a truck driver was at a shop in Rowlandsfield transacting business when two men armed with guns attempted to rob him.

The police say during the robbery the truck driver and a bystander were shot and injured.

The two robbers were allegedly challenged by men who were playing dominoes in the area.

The men allegedly disarmed and shot them, killing Frater on the spot.

The other three people who received gunshot injuries were taken to hospital for treatment.

Two firearms relating to the incident were seized by the police.

The police say Frater had been reporting to the Golden Grove Police Station as part of the conditions for bail after he was charged for Illegal Possession of Firearm, Burglary and Rape, which is currently before the Portland Circuit Court.
