Commissioner of Police George Quallo (back right); Clifford Blake (centre), deputy commissioner of police in charge of strategic operations; and Assistant Commissioner of Police Ray Palmer (back left), conduct a high-level meeting with members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force at the commissioner's Old Hope Road office in St Andrew this morning.

A high-level meeting involving the top brass of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is now under way at the Office of the Police Commissioner in St Andrew.

The meeting is being used to plan the way forward in the fight against the out-of-control crime situation in the Area One police division, primarily St James, Trelawny, Hanover and Westmoreland.

It is being led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Clifford Blake, in charge of the strategic operations portfolio, and includes several former Area One top cops, among others.

St James has been the bloodiest parish in Jamaica with 310 people killed since the start of the year.
