Traffic, vending changes for St Ann over Christmas period

Brown's Town, St Ann.

St Ann Municipal Corporation has announced a number of traffic and vending arrangements for December.

The changes will impact Brown's Town, Ocho Rios and St Ann's Bay especially during the busy shopping period.

The municipal corporation says some streets will be converted into one-way traffic, parking will be restricted on some, no vehicles will be allowed in some area, and some streets will be used as detour routes.

It says in Brown's Town, traffic re-routing will be strictly enforced on Christmas Eve so that the town will be able to accommodate the large number of pedestrians and vendors.

No street vending will be allowed in the town except in designated areas.

There will be similar enforcements in Ocho Rios and St Ann's Bay.

Vendors are being reminded to ensure that they abide by public health requirements for the preparation and sale of food.

They should therefore consult the Health Department or clinics in their areas before completing arrangements for the sale of food.
