Two alleged gunmen killed, another injured during police operation off Waltham Park Road
The police have disclosed that two alleged gunmen were shot and killed and a third gunman shot and injured on Saturday during an operation at premises off Waltham Park Road in St Andrew.
Four illegal firearms as well as an assortment of ammunition were also recovered.
Reports are that a police team was fired upon by gunmen as they searched a premises in the community.
The fire was returned and the gunmen reportedly ran into a gully and escaped.
It's reported that a second team of police pounced upon the group of gunmen at a different section of the community where a shootout ensued.
Three of the alleged gunmen were later found with gunshot wounds.
They were taken to hospital where two of the alleged gunmen reportedly died and the third gunman was admitted in serious condition.
The police say during a search of the premises they found a 12-gauge shotgun with its serial number erased and five cartridges.
A Ruger pistol with 14 cartridges as well as a .45 pistol with a magazine containing three .45 cartridges were also recovered.
A pistol slide and a pair of binoculars were also reportedly found at the premises.
