Flash Flood Warning for northern parishes still in effect
A flash flood warning remains in place for northern parishes, but has been discontinued for those on Jamaica's south coast.
The Meteorological Service says the Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Hanover, St James, Trelawny, St Ann, St Mary, and Portland will remain in effect until 5 o'clock this afternoon.
It says although the Stationary Front just east of Jamaica continues to dissipate, unstable weather conditions are expected to persist across sections of the island.
The forecast is for mostly cloudy conditions with periods of showers and possible thunderstorms to continue to affect sections of most parishes, especially northern parishes throughout today.
The Met Office says flash flooding is therefore possible over some low-lying and flood prone areas of northern parishes.
