PNP shocked, saddened by murder of Clarendon Caretaker and her son
The People’s National Party (PNP) says it’s shocked and deeply saddened by the deaths of its Clarendon Councillor Caretaker and her son, who were attacked and killed by gunmen last night.
Carol Ebanks and her son, Jevon Myles, were shot and killed at a shop she operates.
Reports are that Ebanks and her five children were in the shop, close to their home, minutes before midnight when they were surprised by gunmen who invaded the business place.
It's reported that four of the children managed to escape.
However, Ebanks and Myles were not so lucky as they were cornered by the gunmen.
The PNP caretaker was shot and her son put to lie face down before being executed.
Describing the deaths as a major tragedy, PNP President, Dr Peter Phillips, said this is another episode that underscores the urgent need to stop the bloodletting.
He said what should be the season of peace and goodwill has found many families suffering and in mourning.
The PNP is calling for the police to move swiftly to investigate and bring to justice the murderers who continue to plague the nation with impunity.
