Phillip Brown, the man who beat his pregnant ex-girlfriend to death inside her Crystal Towers apartment in St Andrew last December, is to be sentenced today.

He was among 22 persons who opted to take advantage of the second staging of Sentence Reduction Day on October 19 in the Supreme Court in downtown Kingston.

Brown is in line for a 50 per cent reduction in sentence.

Also in line for a reduction in his sentence is the former employee accused of going on a murderous rampage at Moncrieffe's Patio Shop in St Andrew in March.

At the end of his rampage, Barbara Moncrieffe, co-owner of the establishment, was beaten to death and three other employees were hospitalised with serious injuries.

Omar Graham pleaded guilty to murder and three counts of wounding with intent and is also to be sentenced today.
