Slight reduction in road deaths in second half of year - RSU

There has been a slight decrease in the number of persons killed in motor vehicles crashes in the second half of the year.

According to statistics from the Road Safety Unit (RSU) in the Ministry of Transport, 131 persons have died in motor vehicle crashes since July 1.

This compares to 172 road deaths between January and June.

Overall, road fatalities are down 16 per cent this year.

According to the RSU, a total of 303 persons have died on the nation’s roadways so far this year.

Sixteen persons died in motor vehicles crashes in October, the lowest over a one-month period in the last five years.
