NDM wants probe into reports of bad gas
The National Democratic Movement (NDM) is calling for the Energy Ministry to launch a probe into reports of an emergence of contaminated fuel on the market.
The NDM says it’s concerned about new reports of bad gas being sold by some gas stations.
The party says an immediate investigation is needed and those culpable identified and held accountable.
The party laments that the last time bad gas was on the market dozens of motorists suffered damage to their vehicles due to bad gas and have not been compensated.
Last month, the Consumer Affairs Commission reported that the committee set up to look into claims for bad gas has completed its investigation.
The CAC said it received more than 400 claims amounting to over $25 million.
The agency has been at a standstill with players in the petroleum industry on arriving at a position on paying compensation to motorists.
