Carnelia Risden wins trip to Florida's finest wine & food festival
Accounting practitioner and JN Bank member Carnelia Risden received an early Christmas gift, as she was recently selected as the winner of the JN Bank's Restaurant Week 'Dine, Sip & Swipe' promotion.
The Clarendon resident, who is no stranger to fine dining and exquisite food preparation, saw her baking and culinary interests excited further through her banking relationship with JN Bank when she won a trip for two to the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival in South Florida, USA.
She became eligible for the grand prize draw having used her JN Visa credit card during Restaurant Week. The festival, one of the most highly regarded of its kind, will be held between February 21 and 25, 2018.
The festivities include demonstrations, tastings, parties, seminars, tribute meals with famed chefs, and more.
"I'm beyond excited. This is the first time that I'm winning a prize," she said, shortly after being presented with her reward on Monday, December 18 at the JN Knutsford MoneyShop in New Kingston.
Risden said that this was the best gift she could have received. "When I got the call, at first I was wondering if it was a prank. Then, I let down my guard, as the caller said that I won the trip to Florida. I said, 'wow' and that made my day."
The JN Bank Restaurant Week Dine, Sip & Swipe promotion ran from November 10-18. The promotion was open to all diners and restaurateurs who used their JN Visa credit card at any restaurant participating in the one-week promotion.
George Baker, head of credit card operations at JN Bank, congratulated Risden and commended her for her loyalty to JN Bank.
Baker pointed out that the promotion allowed for enhanced visibility of the JN brand and its Visa credit card, encouraging and prompting increased sales as well as earlier activation and use of the card. He noted that the JN Visa credit card was one of the products which the JN Bank first launched during its transition to becoming a commercial bank.
"The JN Visa credit cards are still new to our members and the general public, therefore, the promotion sought to sensitise more persons that JN Bank was offering this financially responsible product to its members, and it generated a lot of interest," Baker explained.
Risden, who will be taking her youngest brother on the trip with her, said that her experience with JN Bank has been exceptional. "They have excellent services. I did not have any problems doing my banking transactions; therefore, JN Bank is the one," she said.
Risden not only won an all-expense-paid trip, she will also receive US $800 spending money, which will be credited to her JN Bank Visa credit card.
Meanwhile, the grand draw for the participating restaurateurs in the promotion will take place in January 2018.
