The Registrar General’s Department (RGD) says it has decided to extend a pilot for its Online Verification of Certificates to public and private entities.

The RGD says the extension will last until January 2018.

The agency says it came to the decision after successfully completing the first phase of the pilot with two cohorts of Grade one students, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

The online verification process allows for the authentication of documents produced by the RGD, and also facilitates payment on its website.

At present, the agency provides verification letters that inform an individual or institution that the information being presented on a certificate is authentic, and that the certificate was produced by the RGD.

The RGD says the new service is part of efforts to improve service to customers by implementing innovative and convenient processes.

Customers can access the online service by visiting the RGD’s website at
