Christmas Angels | Almost 200 wards of the state to enjoy the holiday with families
Several Jamaicans have opened their hearts and their homes to wards of the state for Christmas in response to an appeal from the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA).
"The response has been very encouraging, with almost 200 of the children going to spend time with families. Some have gone to their families while others are being treated by strangers," said Rosalee Gage-Grey, head of the CPFSA.
"Some have taken them just for Christmas Day while others have taken them for a longer period, so we are quite pleased that Jamaicans have responded and taken these children into their homes," added Gage-Grey, as she noted that persons from all walks of life are hosting the wards of the state.
