Adults under 40 dominate motor vehicle crash casualties in 2017
Nearly half of the persons killed in motor vehicle crashes this year were between 20 and 39 years old.
Since January 1, the Road Safety Unit in the Ministry of Transport says 149 persons within this age group have died on the nation’s roadways.
According to statistics compiled by the Road Safety Unit, this pushes to 693 the number of persons within this age group who have died in motor vehicle crashes across the island in the last four year.
A total of 317 persons have died in motor vehicle crashes this year, including 24 so far this month.
However, the Road Safety Unit says the number of persons killed on the roadways is down 16 per cent when compared with last year.
