Montague ... instructed that the report be placed on his desk by 5 o'clock Monday.

The National Security Ministry is yet to receive a report from Police Commissioner George Quallo on the traffic pile-up that shut down the Palisadoes strip leading to the Norman Manley International Airport for several hours Monday evening.

National Security Minister Robert Montague this morning instructed that the report be placed on his desk by 5 o'clock Tuesday with answers to a number of questions.

"Who gave permission (for the party)? Why? Where was the policing plan? Where was the police? What if there was a disaster at the airport? What is the Commissioner doing (about the incident?" Montague asked.

But government insiders say two hours after the deadline, there was no reply from the Commissioner.

The Palisadoes strip was like a parking lot last evening as hundreds of patrons flocked to the popular party called Sandz.

Motorists complained that they were stuck in traffic for as much as four hours, causing some persons to miss their flights out of the island.
