80 children feted by TEST

More than 80 children at the Jamaica National Children's Home had their spirits lifted following a treat which was hosted by Tomorrow's Event Solutions for Today (TEST) Jamaica Limited recently.

Stacy Stoddart, co-owner for TEST, said the event would not have been possible had it not been for hard work and the help of God.

"Every year when we do a treat at the end of it, the children usually don't want us to leave, and this time was no exception. They didn't want us to leave, and begged that we come back the following week," she said.

"Treats take time to plan and lots of money, of course. I started planning this from September. But let me tell you it was well worth it, just to see the smiles on the children's faces. To watch them participate in the dance-off to every song the DJ threw at them, and seeing their expressions."

Stoddart said the team wanted to do more than allow the children to have fun and so created programmes that would motivate and help build their self-esteem.

"The caregivers were also very happy. They too got gift packages and saw the event as a time to be pampered and catered to. The mentorship came off very well, too; the kids were encouraged and they were overjoyed."
