UPDATED: May Pen police raid yields more than $1.8m in cash, hundreds of ammo
The police have made a major breakthrough in the ammunition black market.
This following the seizure of over 500 rounds of ammunition and the arrest of four persons during raids of two houses in May Pen, Clarendon.
Three Haitians and one Jamaican are in custody.
The police say they conducted a raid at a house at Sharp Avenue where they accosted the Haitians and the Jamaican.
The police say the Jamaican reportedly went to the premises to purchase ammunition from the Haitians.
They say another raid was conducted at his house on Hazard Drive in the Clarendon capital where they found 547 rounds of assorted ammunition and over J$1.8 million.
The police say they also seized US$401 and CAN$5 during the search.
The four remains in custody as the police continue their investigation.
