The Meteorological Service of Jamaica has downgraded the Flash Flood Warning for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Trelawny, St Ann, St Mary and Portland to a Flash Flood Watch.

A Flash Flood Watch also remains in effect for low lying and flood prone areas of all the other parishes.

The Flash Flood Watch is in effect until 5 p.m.

The Met Service says the Stationary Front just east of Jamaica continues to produce unstable weather conditions.

It says the Front is expected to linger for another three days.

The forecast is for periods of showers, which could be heavy at times, to continue to affect sections of most parishes, particularly northern and eastern parishes over the next few days.

Flash flooding therefore remains possible over low-lying and flood-prone areas.
