11 in custody after illegal guns and ammo seizure
Eleven persons are now in police custody following the seizure of four illegal firearms and nearly 60 rounds of ammunition in separate incidents in St Catherine, Clarendon and Manchester in the last 24 hours.
Their identities are being withheld pending further investigations.
The police report that two of the firearms were found this morning members of a joint police-military police team during a search of premises in the community of Reid's Pen, St Catherine.
It's reported that an AK-47 rifle was seized after the police intercepted a motor vehicle in Manchester.
The other firearm was found in a house in Clarendon last evening.
